In my elementary school I learned about the Paris agreement. I was about 10 years old. I remember me thinking "Good - the grown ups have it under control. There’s an agreement that will hold us accountable. There will be a solution.” Now fast forward - about 20 years later, we are about to fail the Paris agreement but the urgency to act is as important as ever.
The difference is: We are the grown ups now. It’s on us to change what we don’t agree with.
And solutions we have. Many! We just need to look around and actually start to use them.
So yes, I’m convinced that we are able to turn this madness around. One by one. Little by little we can make a change.
If you don’t know how to start to make a change, support a project. Join an association. Just do something!! Go with what inspires you. There are so many challenges we are facing, and for each challenge we have at least as many solutions.
If you’re looking for something you can do right now. Support the crowdfunding of Lytefire: Makenson Merisca wants to create a solar bakery in his home country Haiti. He started to build a Lytefire Solar Oven by himself. To go ahead, he needs money to buy ingredients, and a few other things to take it off the ground. He will be able to save tons of CO2 each year. He will be able to support his own family and community in a tough country like Haiti: https://www.ulule.com/with-pain-soleil-bring-the-solar-bakery-to-haiti/
